How to fit more video into 25 MB
Duration decides how far 25 MB can go. Before audio and container overhead, 25 MB gives a 1-minute clip about 3.33 Mbps, but a 5-minute clip only about 0.67 Mbps. Long clips may need 480p or 720p to look reasonable at that budget. This tool reserves headroom and can retry once if the first export is too large. It then reports the actual size; a precise ceiling is not guaranteed. For a strict upload limit, choose 24 MB and verify the downloaded file. MB here means 1,000,000 bytes.

Is this video compressor really free?
Yes. You can compress and download for free, without an account or watermark. Processing uses your device instead of a paid cloud encoder. Device and browser limits still apply.
Does my video get uploaded?
No. The file you select is read and compressed in your browser. We do not receive or store your video. The site still connects to Cloudflare to load the application and, if selected, the sample video.
Which video formats can I compress?
Start with MP4, MOV or WebM. Support depends on the codecs inside the file and your browser, not just its extension. Output is MP4 with H.264 video and optional AAC audio. HDR video is currently unsupported.
Can I compress video without losing quality?
Reducing a video significantly usually involves some quality loss. Better quality keeps more detail, while Smallest file favors size. Preview the result before downloading and always keep your original.
What are the file and device limits?
Inputs are limited to 1 GB and 30 minutes; target sizes can be 0.1–120 MB. Actual capacity depends on available memory and codec support. Large files work best on a desktop. Try an up-to-date Chrome, Edge or Safari; support is checked for each file.
Why is the compressed video not smaller?
An already optimized video may have little room to shrink. Re-encoding a highly efficient codec to H.264 can also make it larger. Try Smallest file, 720p or a smaller target; the result panel reports the actual size honestly.
Will it keep my audio and video orientation?
The main audio track is retained when Keep audio is enabled. Unsupported audio is reported instead of silently removed. Video orientation is applied to the output. Extra audio tracks, subtitles and source metadata are not retained.
Can I close the tab while it compresses?
Keep this tab open and your device awake until it finishes. Closing the tab stops the task. On phones, switching apps or locking the screen can interrupt processing. You can cancel and start again from the original file.
